Handmade patchwork quilt - Merton (cot size)

Beautifully handmade in England, this quilt is one of several unique designs by Cassandra Ellis. Each quilt is pieced together using a combination of vintage silks, wools and cottons from Japan, India, Eastern Europe and England – and backed with woven Fair Trade cotton. The inner lining is made from soft cotton wadding. Every quilt is individually made with an exacting level of craftsmanship and is hand-finished with silk, cotton or wool binding. This quilt measures 120 cm wide x 150 cm long – with a drop of 15 cm on the sides and one end of a standard mattress. Please note there may be a slight variation in size. Quilts can also be custom-made in the featured design in other sizes (please allow 6-8 weeks for delivery for those made to order). See options below for pricing.

These quilts are heirloom pieces, created by skilled artisans, using traditional, time-honoured methods, combined with the advantages of modern technology. The designer, Cassandra Ellis, previously owned a homewares store in New Zealand. Her view is that the house should be a haven - a place of wellbeing and protection. If you want your house to have a really homely feel, rather than being a showpiece, Cassandra’s quilts are just the thing… and, if you like the arty-crafty look, they’re actually something of a showpiece in their own right.
