Unique handmade curiosity box by StyleCurious featured Blue. Made using found objects that are recycled to create what Blue calls her Die-a-ramas, this one is housed in black wooden frame and is a tribute to Frida Kahlo, who has had a major influence on Blue’s work. Blue says of Kahlo that she “loves creating around her”. For this piece Blue has used quite a few Mexican images, collected on her travels in Mexico City. This box measures 25.5 cm wide x 25.5 cm high x 4.5 cm deep.

I love anything glittery and was instantly attracted to these sparkly curiosities. I like the eclectic mix of quirky bits and pieces used to create Blue’s arty collages – and the fact that each one tells a story. These are great as colourful home accessories, but the smaller ones would make really unique and unusual gifts – perhaps for a friend with a taste for original things, or someone who’s a collector of quirky curiosities.
