Designed by StyleCurious featured Mark H for ORWOT! Ltd, this 'trophy cushion' is decorated with real gold (or silver) wire. The highly skilled embroidery is done by craftspeople who have worked with precious metals in this way for the last eight Kings and Queens of England. As Mark says “The next time you see a piece of precious metal embroidery this size will be at Prince William’s coronation. There are companies in other parts of the world that produce embroidery for a fraction of the cost, but it doesn’t look like this”. The faux astrakhan comes from Oldham. In the 1920s, this manufacturer sent their product all over the world. Mark explains that “People use the Chinese 40p a meter version now, but it doesn’t feel like ours.” The black cotton silk mix fringe is produced by Nick in a factory (that has been in the same family for the past three generations) by a stream in Warwickshire. Each cushion measures 16 inches square and is embroidered by hand. Please allow 7 days for delivery.
