Vintage black and white lucite handbag with chain strap

Vintage Pierre Cardin bag, probably from the late 1950s – early 1960s. Made from strips of black and white lucite with a gold chain strap and bearing the classic Pierre Cardin logo. Measures approx. 25 x 15 x 6.5 cm (at widest). Very good vintage condition and perfectly usable, though the clasp is slightly loose fitting and may come undone if the bag is not held upright.

This bag is totally fabulous – I love it! The cool black and white colour combo means that this goes with so many things. The styling is so typical of its era – and it’s so lovely to find a piece of Pierre Cardin that pre-dates his later grand master of brand licensing reincarnation. This is a beautiful, classic yet modern design that will appeal to collectors and fashionistas alike.
