1930s embroidered Chinese silk dressing gown

Was £297.00Now £227.00

This vintage embroidered Chinese silk dressing gown is reversible. One side features a dragon in raised gold coloured silk thread embroidery. The other has a hand painted floral design. The Chinese dragon is the ultimate symbol of good fortnue and lies at the heart of Chinese mythology. Chinese dragons are regarded as divine mythical beasts that bring abundance and good luck. They are benevolent creatures, unlike their malevolent Western counterparts, which are usually associated with evil. The dressing gown is ankle length, approximately 138 cm long, and would comfortably fit UK sizes 10 through to 16.

This one off dressing gown is simply magnificent and combines high quality craftsmanship with artistic flair. Just imagine a man who likes to stand out from the crowd ... The Chinese dragon was the symbol of the Emperor, so you'll probably be feeling a bit regal too. Could also be worn as a dress if you are a woman who wants to be noticed, or maybe as evening dress if you're a man who likes to stand out from the crowd - I spotted Nigel Kennedy wearing something that looked similar at a recent prom concert...
