Exceptionally fine quality vintage 1940s ‘Corde’ handbag. Corde bags were created using rows of gimp in unique patterns, stitched to a fabric background and were advertised as being the longest wearing of all handbag fabrics. Lucite handles were often added for a distinct look, as in the perfectly functioning opaque Lucite clasp on the bag available here. This example is in excellent vintage condition and measures approximately 21 x 20 x 6 cm, with a handle of around 14.5 cm. The label reads ‘A genuine Corde product. Regd Trade Mark. Made in England’.
