I wonder where this curiously fashionable brooch has travelled to and what stories it might be able to tell. I believe these sorts of badges were worn during the First World War, but perhaps there’s someone who knows the approximate date of this piece and could let us know? In any case, it would make a quirky and original gift for someone (male or female) who appreciates unique accessories - or anyone with a love of nautical memorabilia.
