Price £32.50

From the first collection of the Tink-it range by contemporary artists, exclusively available in the UK at ShopCurious, this boxed set of temporary tattoos by Julien Langendorff contains 2 boards (10 x 15 cm) of two tattoos each. This is one of a limited edition of individually numbered sets, up to a maximum of 500 by this artist (one of only five French artists contributing to the first collection). Let your body be an ephemeral part of a global work of art. Take photos, save your artwork and the history of your body’s life for posterity. And here is what it says about the designer on the Tink:

“Although I don't have any on my own skin, I've always loved tattoos – and I've been asked for designs on various occasions. While the commitment they represent is one trait that I find particularly interesting about them, the idea of temporary tattoos makes them both fun and a more intense experience. For Daughter of Darkness, I simply tried to imagine a picture I would like to carry on my body, or see on someone else's. It's a collage of pictures gathered from old newspapers – a faceless nude female, circles reminiscent of an eclipse. I wanted something eerie, poetic, mythologic – but with a 70s vibe, the sort of things you'd think inspired by a band like Black Sabbath.”

Born in 1982 in Paris, where he still lives and works, musician and visual artist Julien Langendorfffocuses in his work on drawings, collages and unsettling installations: a dreamlike world of mystical visions, of haunted poetry crossing paths with ghostly shapes, and 1960s counter-culture figures rubbing shoulders with pre-Raphaelite visual imagery.
Represented in NYC by Cinders Gallery, and in Paris by Fat Galerie, Langendorff has recently had shows at the Galerie du jour Agnes b. (where his art is part of the collection) and at the Waiting Room gallery in Tokyo. He co-directed the movie Pillars of Fire with Jason Glasser.
