Knitted chair cover - Delight

Price £800.00

Delightfully curious chair cover, hand-knitted by Talitha Kuomi from Massachusetts, USA, as part of ‘The Not-So-Ubiquitous Knitted Chairs’ project by Yuvinia Yuhadi – an Indonesian-born, London-based and newly graduated designer. Each piece is individually hand-crafted and will cover any inexpensive, plastic, garden chair, transforming it into a unique work of contemporary design art. Made from 80% acrylic and 20% wool, the chair cover measures approximately 70 inches (bottom circumference) x 30 inches high. This cover can be machine washed on a warm medium cycle and tumble dried at a low temperature (can also be dry cleaned).

Yuvinia’s chair covers are so original! The inspiration for this design comes from the classic leather armchair and the curiously clever idea is that the knitted cover transforms a cold and sterile, basic plastic chair into something really cozy and inviting. Yuvinia explains that the concept was born from her “deep passion for knitting”. She loves to combine traditional craft techniques with modern materials and design to create high quality products that are of “increased emotional value to consumers”. These chair covers would make a useful addition to any home (or garden) – what’s more, they’re a collectors’ item too.
