Plastic coated sari cotton shoulder bag with iconic Zandra Rhodes ‘painted lady’ design and signature – probably from the early 1970s as the design is reminiscent of her famous 'Chevron Shawl' print. (can anyone confirm?) Bag measures 43 x 22 x 30 cm and is in very good vintage condition. Label reads: ‘This is one of my special designs for Sari Fabrics to use everyday. Treasure it – have a lovely time’.

Definitely a bag to be treasured – but I’d say that this is one for the collection, rather than everyday use. Bring this out on special occasions, or when you want to be noticed at a major fashion event – but you’d better buy it before it’s snapped up by a museum for a display cabinet.
