Curiously, there’s a popular belief that Biba garments were poorly made. The fact that this late 1960s dusky pink, pinky taupe and plum brown knitted jumper is still around today is because of the high quality wool from which it is made.
This is very much a style of its era, and may have been worn as a minuscule mini dress measuring just 21 inches long when fully stretched, or as a funky sweater. The ultra long (9 inch) roll neck is also characteristic of Biba’s designs.
The item is in excellent vintage condition (with slight staining under one armpit after hand washing) and would fit a UK size 6-8. The piece also has an original 1960s Biba label. According to our sources, this was probably manufactured in Hong Kong.
