This curiously cool manual typewriter probably dates from 1969, or the early 1970s - but the same model endured well into the 1980s. With geometric, modern lines and contrasting colours, this was the ultimate portable accessory for every writer from literary bigwigs to humble students.
This model was designed for Olympia Werke in Wilhelmshaven, West Germany, in 1969, by Alfons Boothby and Georges Joseph. The striking colour scheme is red and pale grey with white keys, knobs and trim, and the typewriter has a metal body with plastic keys and borders. The typewriter is supplied in excellent vintage condition, in full working order, with original case, and fitted with a new typewriter ribbon.
