Curiously covetable and achingly cool, this original retro typewriter will have your creative friends swooning in awe.
Designed by the late Ettore Sottsass with the British designer Perry King for Italian firm Olivetti, the Valentine typewriter was launched in 1969. Sottsass once said: "When I was young, all we ever heard about was functionalism, functionalism, functionalism. It's not enough. Design should also be sensual and exciting."
With its curved lines, stand out colour and - dare we say it - manual analogue functionality, this is one of those collectable curiosities that is museum worthy (as early as 1971 this was already a part of MoMA’s permanent collection). Revered as a 20th century design icon, the Olivetti Valentine even appeared in Stanley Kubrick’s 1971 film, A Clockwork Orange.
Supplied in excellent vintage condition, in full working order, with original iconic plastic shell case, and fitted with a new typewriter ribbon.
