This 1950s vintage bag is covered with intricate multi-coloured beading on a beige tapestry fabric base. The bag is marked Souré New York and is linked to the Caron brand that was fashionable at this time. The interior is lined with plastic coated fabric and is in near perfect condition and there's a lovely Lucite handle. Best of all are the delightfully carved gilt roses along the bag closure.
This bag is fairly roomy, measuring 14.17 inches (36 cm) wide, 7 inches (18 cm) high and 3.14 inches (8 cm) wide at the base.
This sophisticated bag will set you apart from the crowd - especially as it's a one off unique accessory that only you will be carrying. What's more, you'll not only be individual, but this bag is curiously collectable. Very good vintage condition apart from one missing cabouchon/bead on one of the central flowers (see image).
