Each piece of FOLD jewellery is delicately handmade by the designer and possesses a unique ‘soul’, or character. These dangly disc earrings are available in the range’s unique formulae of gold, silver or rose gold. The silver version is an alloy of rose gold with a layer of nickel, and the 24k yellow gold plated alloy of rose gold also has an integral layer of nickel. The earrings are secured with ear posts and stud fastenings, and are incredibly light to wear.

Feihefeihefeihe’s FOLD jewellery is a product of improvisation, experimentation and exploration. The collection originated from a curious coincidence several years ago when jewellery designer Fei He scrunched up some waste paper to throw it into the bin. He had accidentally trapped some silver foil under the paper. When unfurled, this revealed a fascinating texture on the metal, which was shimmering with multiple reflections of light. At the same time, after a series of experiments mixing metals and trying to match their thickness, Fei eventually discovered a new rose gold formula, allowing for each piece of jewellery to be large, yet extremely light and strong. He created white gold jewellery, by polishing the metal and plating it with silver, and then rhodium, in order to secure colour stability.

Observations from visits to several major jewellery manufacture factories, brought home to Fei the polluting effects on the environment of some of the processes employed, which he says, “later on encouraged me to recycle metal from unwanted jewellery, offering it a new life, offering our earth a better life.” He believes that jewellers share an ethical responsibility that should be expressed through their work, and his collections are his statement on what he feels are the wrongs in society.

Feihefeihefeihe offers free worldwide delivery on all orders. Returns are not accepted for this collection’s items, except for issues relating to quality of manufacture.
